I am grateful today for my friend, Miriam. Today was her birthday and she turned 30...a very beautiful 30. This is the picture I put on her birthday card. Thank you for your friendship, Miriam! It means so much to share the struggles and joys of motherhood!

I am grateful that my little scrawny Blue Mist Spirea that I bought in the spring made it through the hot summer and is blooming its heart out! Hope the butterflies find it!

I am grateful today that we had a surprise visit from some friends who were out on a bike ride! We love being surprised! I even got to talk about my butterflies. :-) Gotta love it when people ask questions. Do it again, Ryan and Tabby and boys!!! :-)

You must get tired of my butterfly pictures...but I don't! :-) I was grateful today for several Monarchs fluttering around in my garden, posing for me all over the place! I had a photography hey-day!!!

I was grateful today for some early-morning garden time. Caught some sunshine on this feller...

This little lady was a'-layin' eggs!

And this caterpillar was curled up taking a nap...just kidding...this is what they do when they're disturbed (yes, by me!). I grabbed him and took him into the safety of my butterfly house.

I am grateful today for a chance to listen to our kids' teachers talk about the new year and learn a little more about the place where they spend 7 hours out of their day...every day!

Thank you ...a HUGE thank you to all the great teachers of the world...especially the two who are my sons' teachers this year! Excited about the possibilities this year holds!

I am SO grateful an old friend stopped by for a visit yesterday and today! It's been 13 years since we saw each other, but we just took off where we left off! We both have boys who are 8 and they got along just great! We look forward to coming to see you now, Pam!

I am grateful for storytime by flashlight!...and camp lantern. :-) No power tonight due to a severe thunderstorm last night. High winds knocked down trees all over town.

I am grateful today for summertime haircuts! :-) Buzzed the boys tonight and they look so different! Pic coming tomorrow... One thing nice about short, short haircuts...only have to do them twice in a summer. :-)

I am grateful for my daily turn in the garden...and a black swallowtail that posed for me ever so nicely. Sadly, it probably had something to do with her wrinkled wing, but thankfully she could still fly...just not well. Oh, nature's beauty!

Very grateful today for a delightful supper of quesadillas, Izze drinks and fresh homemade salsa from our homemade tomatoes!!! Yum!

Grateful for a lovely family time at a professional soccer game in KC. It was so fun!

We showed up on the big screen...and I thought quickly enough to snap a picture of it! :-)

Sporting KC vs. Seattle Sounders - we lost 2-1, but KC is a great team...you could tell! This was their 1st loss in 15 games! I think the other team just got lucky! :-)

One of their best players is Kei Kamara...he scored their one goal and he has a trademark "heart" sign he makes to the fans after scoring. (see big screen below)

I am grateful today to watch Logan do a great job in swim lessons! Today was parents' day and we got to watch him do his stuff!

He even jumped off the diving board and swam to the side...with help, but yay!

AND...tonight was First Friday Artwalk at Southwind Gallery and we got to go see my Monarch print hanging in the KS150 Art Display. Yay!!! It will be there until August 15th.
